Christmas is in 54 days and I’m excited to choose gifts for loved ones. With the supply chain issues expected this holiday season, I’m shopping early this year. I’m also looking to think outside the box with some of the gifts that I give.

Today’s gifts outside the box are gifts of time.

1. Coupon book for trips to get their favorite treat
I love this idea because it allows us to be reminded to spend the time with our loved ones even during our busiest seasons.

2. One-on-one dinners once a month
This is a great idea for your children, spouses, friends, parents and more! We all wish we had more time to spend with our loved ones. If we give this as a gift we can ensure that it happens.
3. A year’s worth of pre-planned date nights
This is my favorite idea for couples. First, it ensures you go on date nights. Second, it allows you to plan in advance, your date nights so you don’t default to dinner and a/or a movie.
P.S. I’ve heard great things about The Adventure Challenge books and might just be getting the couples edition for dates nights in 2022.
4. Cook together
The heading says cook together, but really you can do anything together that the receiver of the gift likes. The idea is spending time together.
5. Play a game together

My kids always ask me to play games with them. And I’m often very busy. What a cool gift it would be for them to say hear you say yes. Our kids are into video games, and their favorite nights are when they have special nights to play just them and mom and/or dad.
6. Building a fort on a cold day
This is a fun gift for kids and a unique idea for your significant other. We all know that kids love forts. But you could also build a “fancy” one for adults. In both cases you could watch a fun movie out of it after you’re done! Don’t forget the treats!
7. A trip to the bookstore
A trip to the Bookstore is exactly my love language. My kids really like it a lot too and we could spend hours looking at books there. If you want to make it last a little longer buy a book that you can read together. There is nothing more exciting than discussing a good book with someone else.
8. More ideas
-taking the dog for a walk with just one child
-fishing
-camping or going to the park
-planting a garden together
-hiking a trail
The thing I like about this gift list is that it can be given to any one of any age. Not just your kids! What gifts of time do you like to give? Tell me in the comments so we can all get more fun ideas!
