Best Gifts I’ve received recently
First, let’s to start off with the best gifts that I’ve received over the years. These gifts make the cut because I still use them all the time and they are useful in my every day life.
1. Kindle Paperwhite
I cannot tell you enough how much I love my Kindle. It combines my love for reading with my need for a clutter free home. I love books but I don’t like having a ton of books collecting dust on my bookshelves (I reserve this space for a select few, very special books). Some of my favorite things about the Kindle Paperwhite are:
- The battery lasts forever on one charge.
- Borrowing books from the library with my kindle. I love that if a hard copy of a book I want to read is not available, then I can usually find the kindle version of it and not have to wait.
- I love being able to read in the comfort of my bed at night and not bother the husband with having the lights on while he’s trying to sleep.
If you’re looking for gifts for women who love to read, this is a great gift!
2. Apple Watch
It took me a long time to finally buy the Apple watch. Now that I have it, I don’t know how I ever lived without it. What I love about my apple watch:
- It keeps me off my phone. I select which notifications I want to receive on my watch (text messages, emails, phone calls), I get to see a preview when the notification comes in, and only if it’s important to do I need to pick up my phone.
- I also really like the challenge of closing the exercise, standing, and calories burned rings.
- The watch reminds me to take a break and just breathe.
As a mom, all of these things fall to the back burner and I love that the watch challenges me and helps me to do them.
3. Apple Airpods
This is another one that I dragged my feet to buy. And just like the watch, I love it. That being said, here’s what I love about the Apple Airpods
- The ability to take calls hands-free.
- Listening to my own music on road trips.
- Using them to listen to audiobooks! I get motion sickness on car rides and plane rides so unfortunately watching a video is not an option for me. Listening to a book using these AirPods was great.
- Not having to be careful of my movements lest I brush against the wire and cause the earphones to fall out of my ear.
4. Airpods Case
If you’re going to get Airpods, you need a case. These silicone ones with the clip are great.
5. Calligraphy tools
A few years back I stumbled upon hand lettering (modern calligraphy) and fell in love. It has been a great outlet for me to be able to relax and get creative. Here are a few of my favorite pens and notebooks for hand lettering.
Calligraphy Pens – This was the easiest one for me to learn with.
Notebook – In order to keep the pens in good shape you need to write on paper that is compatible with the pen (aka, it won’t ruin the pen). This is my fave one.
Gifts I’m hoping for this year
1. Joggers
Joggers have been my new favorite item of clothing for the last year and I have heard good things about these being comparable to the Lululemon Align joggers for a fraction of the price.
2. Cutting Boards
I need this set of color coded cutting boards so that it’s clear to everyone in my house which cutting board is used for what.
3. World Map
This world map would be such a pretty feature piece in our home.
4. Snow Cone Machine
I keep seeing people post about how awesome this is for shaving thin ice and I really want it because come summer, it’s going to be all about the shave ice and halo-halo over here!
5. Resistance Bands
My resistance bands are on their last breath of life. These are nonslip and have great reviews!
6. RollerBlades
With most of my family spending time at the skate park, I’m tempted to pick up my old hobby of roller-blading again! Plus it seems like it’s back in style now. Anyone else notice this?
7. Planner

I love a good planner! And Erin Condren planners are good planners! They are everything I need in a planner that I haven’t been able to find anywhere else. Last year I got a Life Planner. This year, I’m eyeing out the Layers Daily Life Planner.
If you’re looking for gifts for women who love to plan, definitely look into a planner.
I hope you found some great gifts for women. Tell me in the comments below what you’re getting the woman in your life?
